Hiab Hire with Driver
Fully operated, door to door. Your load is planned, lifted, transported and placed by people who do this every working day.
Why Choose Hiab Hire with Driver?
The crane is only half the job. The judgement — reading the ground, rigging the load, working around obstacles, knowing when to stop — comes from the person on the controls. With operated hire, that judgement is included.
- Driver-operators with years on the levers, not weeks
- Lift planning and load securing handled for you
- No operator licence, training or staff costs on your side
- Same service for one-off lifts and ongoing contracts
The Lifts That Need a Professional
Dockside edges, live public spaces, fragile loads and centimetre-perfect set-downs — these are not jobs for guesswork. Our operators work to planned lifts with rated equipment, proper exclusion zones and full PPE, whatever the setting.
If you have been told a job is “too awkward”, describe it to us before you give up on it. There is a good chance we have done something similar this month.
High-Value Loads, Handled Properly
Glazing, fabricated steel, machinery with delicate finishes — loads where one knock wipes out the margin on the whole job. Operated hire puts an experienced professional between your goods and that risk.
For regular careful-handling work, combine driver-operated service with rental terms, or see all options on the services page.

What does hiab hire with driver include?
The vehicle, a trained driver who operates the crane, lifting accessories, fuel and insurance. The driver plans the lift, loads and secures your goods, drives the route and places the load at the destination — a complete door-to-door service.
Do I need anyone on site to help?
Usually not. The driver handles the lifting at both ends. For some loads a banksman or a second pair of hands speeds things up, and we will tell you in advance if that applies to your job.
Are your drivers qualified?
Our drivers are experienced, trained lorry loader operators who carry out lifting operations every working day, and they hold the appropriate licences for the vehicles they drive.
Can the driver assess my site before the day?
For complex or restricted sites, yes — send photos and measurements and we will review access, ground conditions and reach before we confirm the booking.
