Steel & Beam Lifting
Steel beams, columns and fabricated sections delivered and lifted into position by one operated hiab lorry.
Steel and Beam Lifting Across the UK
Getting steel to site is only half the job — it still has to come off the lorry and into position. A hiab does both. The beams ride on the bed of the lorry, and the lorry-mounted crane lifts each one off and places it precisely where the steelwork needs it, without a separate crane on standby.
Every booking comes with a trained driver who operates the loader crane, plans the lift and secures the load, so your sections arrive in order and land safely first time.
- Universal beams, columns and fabricated sections
- Lifted off and placed within crane reach and capacity
- Trained driver-operator included with every booking
- Fabricator collections and site deliveries
Collection, Transport and Precise Placement
We collect from the fabricator or steel stockholder, transport the load safely, and offload each section where it is needed — onto pads, bearings or holding positions ready for your erection team. Sequencing the load so beams come off in the right order keeps the job moving on site.
Because the crane is part of the lorry, there is no second lifting team to wait on and no double-handling. The same service also handles plant and machinery transport and container delivery.

Common Questions
How does hiab steel and beam lifting work?
The steel is loaded onto the bed of the hiab lorry, transported to site, and the lorry-mounted crane lifts each beam or section off and places it where the steelwork needs it. One vehicle handles delivery and the lift together.
What steel can you deliver and lift?
Universal beams and columns, fabricated sections, frames, purlins and material packs, within the weight and reach of the loader crane. Tell us the lengths and weights and we will confirm the right vehicle for the job.
Can you place steel directly onto the structure?
The loader crane can lift and position steel within its reach and rated capacity — onto pads, bearings or holding positions. For final connection at height you would still use your steel-erection team; we get the section safely to the right place.
Is the lift operated for me?
Yes. Every vehicle comes with a trained driver who operates the loader crane, plans the lift and secures the load, so you never need your own operator on site.
Can you deliver steel beams and lift them into position on a self-build?
Yes. Self-build projects are a regular part of our work — we deliver and lift universal beams, ridge beams and structural steels onto wall plates and bearing pads, saving you the cost of a separate mobile crane. Send us the beam lengths, weights and the site address for a fixed quote.
How much does steel beam lifting and delivery cost?
Cost depends on the weight and length of the steel, the number of lifts and any access restrictions at the site. All jobs are priced at a fixed all-in rate with no hidden extras. Call 0330 107 7400 or email us with your requirements for a quick figure.
